The catch mainly consists of fish from the Engraulidae family (e.g., Peruvian anchovy) along with species from Carangidae, Clupeidae, Osmeridae, Scombridae, and Ammodytidae families. The omega-3 content of the oil from individual fish species varies with seasonal and growth conditions, making it essential to use multiple species in the oil production to ensure that the levels of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA are consistent in each production batch. Fishing in the area is regulated to prevent overfishing. The oil we use is produced under the supervision of the Friend of the Sea organization (https://friendofthesea.org).Friend of the Sea Fish oil produced in South America is refined at Lysin factories in Iceland for use as an ingredient in pharmaceuticals, food, or feed. The fish oil we use meets the quality requirements for pharmaceutical production. Lysin's manufacturing process is GMP and ISO certified, and production is supervised by the national Medicines Agency.
