Feliway spray: A pheromone solution to support cats during changes and in other situations that may scare or stress them. INDICATIONS: Reduction of undesirable behaviors caused by stress. Consult your veterinarian before using FELIWAY spray for other possible situations. FELIWAY spray contains substances that have a similar effect as the cat's natural facial pheromones. Pheromones are chemical substances that animals secrete to mark their territory and communicate with other animals. A cat marks its environment with pheromones by rubbing its cheek against an object. These pheromone markings make the cat feel safe and calm. Pheromone markings also prevent the cat from marking places with urine. A cat will not mark an area with urine that it has marked with pheromones. A cat makes urine markings when there is a change in its environment that causes stress (e.g., a new home, decoration, family member, or pet). A cat makes urine markings following a specific behavior pattern: - chooses a vertical surface - scratches with its paws - turns its backside towards the chosen area - raises its tail and directs a urine spray onto the surface. NOTE! Do not spray in the presence of the cat. The effect of Feliway spray lasts for about 2 to 5 hours. CHECK DOSAGE in the product instructions.
